Idéprisen 2017

Inven2 has nominated Jonas Skogestad for the Idéprisen 2017 together with two other candidates from the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital. Project idea: “Ny behandling av alvorlige hjerterytmeforstyrrelser (ventrikkeltakykardi)”.
Brief description: “Forskerne har oppdaget en ny signalvei for regulering av hjertets saltbalanse, og gjennom å påvirke reguleringen av bestemte proteiner i denne signalveien har man oppnådd antiarytmiske effekter i celler. Forsøk i hjertesyke mus viser at behandlingen også har effekt i dyremodeller: mens 80 % av de hjertesyke musene fikk livsfarlig hjerterytmeforstyrrelse uten behandling, så var det ingen av musene i studien som fikk slike farlige rytmeforstyrrelser dersom de fikk behandlingen. Neste steg er å teste ut behandlingen på pasienter, og førstepremien på 250.000 kr vil eventuelt kunne gå til videre utvikling av prosjektet.”

All seminar attendees must register. There is no registration fee.
